Skegness Raceway Banger and Stock Car Racing

I was in the area over a long weekend so I took a chance and took my car-loving 10-year old son to watch some racing at Skegness Raceway. My expectations were low: I assumed it would be cheap banger racing, mud, disorganisation and facilities consisting of a couple of huts selling warm drinks and tacky merchandise. I am happy to report that it was much better than that. The tarmac-surfaced track looked well maintained, there were a couple of large brick buildings and high quality grandstands (the main one wouldn't look out of place in a football stadium). The racing was good, too. There was a total of eighteen events which kept us interested throughout the day's five hour schedule.

British Superbikes - Donington Park, May 2026

My son is now a fully converted British Superbike fan after I took the 10-year old for his third weekend away with the series. Housed in our VW campervan for the weekend we were subjected to just about every weather possible (although we thankfully avoided any snow!). As always the racing was good and the atmosphere was even better.

Next up for us will be Brands Hatch in July, for his first visit to the circuit.

London's Best Motorcycle Parking? Westfield Shopping Centre

If you're a biker from the London area then you need to know about Westfield Shopping Centre's motorcycle parking. (I'm talking specifically about Westfield in White City although the Stratford location may offer the same.) Not only is it free of charge and situated in a secured indoor car park but you're also provided with excellent lockers in which to store your gear.

A meeting of Ford Mustangs, from different eras, at Kingsley Cafe in Oxfordshire with a notable muscle car intruder (in the shape of a Dodge Mustang) together with a brief appearance by a McLaren 720S.
