European Le Mans Series - Silverstone 2025

My son and I made a fairly last minute decision to drive to Silverstone and check out the European Le Man Series qualifying ahead of the follow day's four hour endurance race.

It was his first time to the circuit and he wasn't impressed with how flat and featureless it is (especially after being spoiled by the characterful Donington Park last weekend). I can't say that I disagree with him but it was interesting to get up close and personal to some of these impressive endurance racers.

Check out the gallery below. I didn't have my proper camera with me so the "action" shots were taken with my phone and are more desperation than quality!

England and Scotland Campervan Road Trip

A couple of weeks ago my wife and I took our two children on a road trip from Oxfordshire to Edinburgh via the Lake District on the way north and via Bamburgh Castle, Hadrian's Wall, Whitby and the Peak District on the way back south.

The main reason for the trip was that I'd got my daughter and I tickets to AC/DC's only UK tour date of the year at Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium. It seemed like a great excuse to take the campervan on an extended break, so we planned out the 1,001 mile trip over nine days. Below is a gallery of photos from the trip, which ended up being 1,058 miles together with 29 hours and 23 minutes of driving time.

British Superbikes - Donnington Park, September 2025

I took my son to British Superbikes at Donington Park for the weekend in the campervan. Despite some ominous clouds on Sunday, followed by a brief shower, we mostly had great weather all weekend. With a total of eighteen races across the weekend we were treated to some fantastic action on track and, as always, the atmosphere really tops things off.

Many years ago I was accredited photographer covering the series (and you can see examples of my work in this slideshow on YouTube) but nowadays I just grab a few pictures while I'm wandering around, which you can see below.
